Weed and Feed
God is the Master Gardener and we, as his assistants, are charged with weeding and feeding the soil so those looking to grow in Christ can take root and thrive producing fruit.

We are not afraid of the dark because we know Jesus is the light of the world.
God does have three basic responses to prayers. They may not be answered to your liking, but they will be answered.
The sweeping message of the Bible is not a promise that those who believe and do good will not suffer. Instead the Bible is largely a book about people who refused to let go of their faith in the face of suffering.
As United Methodists, we have an obligation to the Creator to be good stewards of his creation.
As members of God’s family, the beneficiaries of the expansion of the church through the coming of the Holy Spirit, we may have different interests and gifts, but we all have a common goal. That goal is to take affirmative action as we seek to identify and utilize the gifts God has given us, we need to make loving God and loving fellow Christians our highest motive.
Think of God as the architect who has drawn up the plans for his creation and his church here on earth. Happy Aldersgate Day. No, this isn’t the day when we celebrate the fight for independence of one country from another or the day of some great naval battle. For those of you who have been living in a bunker on some deserted island it was on May 24, 1738 that John Wesley’s heart felt strangely warm.
Protect the weak and helpless, seek justice. Search out what needs to be done and serve God’s people with love and charity. The challenge we face as Christians in this world of divisiveness and turmoil is to not get pulled off course, derailed or sidetracked. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him. Because we believe in him we can continue to build upon the works that he has done.
The Apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5: 2-4, “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”
